DIY Watercolor Flowers Card

I've been wanting to use some floral stamps to make a card, but just didn't have anything around that inspired me.  So I decided to see if I could remember the steps in creating a few flowers with watercolor which I learned from a class years ago that was taught by Martha Lever.  Though I have forgotten most of the correct steps, have a different set of supplies, I was still able to somewhat pull it off to create these two cards.

I decided to film my process and hope this will inspire you to make your own.  Enjoy!

Crafting on a Budget ~ Wild Cuddly Critters using Inexpensive Watercolor Pencils

Have I mentioned lately how much I love these critters in the SSS Wild Cuddly Critters stamp set?  I just can't get enough of them.

I wanted to try out some new inexpensive watercolor pencils that I picked up at AC Moore a couple of weeks ago.  I didn't need them; as I already have some Derwent and Caran D'Ache.  Since I was picking up a set for my mom, I decided to get some for myself to try them and share with you as part of my Crafting on a Budget series.  These Fantasia Premium watercolor pencils were on sale that particular day for $16.88, but they can still be picked up on Amazon for as little as $21.95.  I was quite pleased with these pencils for simple card making and am anxious to try them out on a more textured/rough paper.

I stamped the critters with Versafine Onyx Black on Canson XL watercolor paper.  Used the pencils to color in all the areas, then went back in with water and brush to activate and move the color.  All the supplies are listed below the video.  Thanks for stopping by.

CAS Card featuring Sassy Snake from Jess Crafts Digitals

I'm back from the end of quarter chaos on the day job and a few days of downtime for my mental health.   I decided to make a clean and simple card using one of the digital stamps over at Jess Crafts Digital.  I believe "Sassy Snake" is one of my favorites.  He just has the cutest expression on his face, don't you think?

I printed the image on Neenah Solar White 80# card stock using my ink jet printer, and colored using my copic markers.  I did add some extra markings to his skin to make him my own.

Very simple coloring on this cute critter, along with a super simple background and sentiment on a banner.
