End of Quarter Festivities on the Day Job and Winner Announcement

Hi Everyone,

I've been AWOL this past week; as it is end of quarter on the day job.  I'm been up to my elbows in alligators.  And...since finance doesn't shut down on the weekends during EOQ, I will have to work tomorrow as well.

With that said, I will announce the winner of the SSS April Card Kit tomorrow evening when I get home.  Thank you all for participating and Good Luck!

Crafting on a Budget with SSS April Card Kit and Giveaway!

Today I wanted to share the SSS April Card Kit as part of my Crafting on a Budget series.  This video and blog post was prompted by a viewer that was asking how to get started.  Since I received my kit yesterday, I decided it was the perfect time to share some thoughts about getting started, building your stash, and taking advantage of these reasonably priced kits from Simon Says Stamp.

Rafflecopter below for the giveaway which will end on April 1.  Feel free to share, Good luck, and thanks for stopping by!

No Line Coloring with Digital Stamps

Jess Crafts Digitals had a new release on Friday.  So I had to color up this cute little raccoon celebrating with a warm cup of coffee!  She also has a free digital stamp for the Coffee Lover Blog Hop over on the Jess Crafts Digital Blog.  Apparently I failed to hit the Publish icon on my blog, so this is late.  My sincere apologies.  I had a show to work Thursday thru Saturday so too many irons in the fire.

I wanted to try some no line coloring with digital stamps, so when I brought the image into my word processor, I change the opacity of the line art to very faint.  I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

I used the following Prismacolor pencils to color the raccoon: Grays PC1050, PC1051, PC1052, PC1054, PC1056, PC1058  White PC938  Black PC934
Coffee Cup PC992, PC905  Coffee PC946, PC947  PC1082  Hat PC992, PC905, PC1005, PC1091
Colorless Blender PC1077.

MFT Beautiful Butterflies

I got the MFT Beautiful Butterflies Card Kit back in February.  Just now getting around to using it.  As of today, the kit is still available over on their site.

I decided to try the black embossing one more time.  I had previously thrown away my black powder because it seems to have way more static than others and just simply gets everywhere.  Then again, that could just be me.  Anyway, I used it and did a little watercoloring with my Mermaid Markers.  Very quick and easy card to do.

Hope you enjoy the video and I've listed link below to the Kit and all the supplies.

Crafting on a Budget ~ Episode 2 ~ Digital Stamps, Galaxy Background, & Spinner

For my second Youtube episode of Crafting on a Budget, I wanted to share digital stamps.  These are inexpensive, some free, readily assessable, and can be manipulated to change the size, the opacity, and printed on your home printer.  The type paper you use, will just depend on your personal printer, so I'd suggest trying several different kinds.

I also wanted to try a couple of new techniques for me.  You may already be familiar with the galaxy background and interactive spinner card.  I've never done either, so thought this was the perfect digital stamp to try these techniques.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the video.
